The Management of Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority, Ilorin Wednesday said it will collaborate with the Kwara State government to drill motorised borehole at the state isolation centres for COVID-19 management.
The agency also donated 200 of 2-inches of PVC pipes, 5 Knapsack sprayers, and 10 one-horsepower-submersible pumps.
The Agency also pledged to provide technical assistance to the state government for rehabilitation of exiting boreholes and other underground water facilities as part of its support in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
Presenting the items to the state Deputy Governor, who is the Chairman of the Technical Committee on COVID-19, the Managing Director of the agency, Engr. Adeniyi Aremu said, “as a responsible Federal Government Agency, we believe all hands must be on deck in the fight against scourge.”
He said that the agency will continue to work with the state government to ensure the compliance to the standard set by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and World Health Organisation (WHO) to arrest the spread of the virus.
While receiving the donations, the deputy governor thanked the agency for the gesture and promised to make good use of the items.
