The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kwara State Council has expressed its condolences to Mr Babatunde Jimba, former Secretary of the council on the passing of his beloved mother, Hajia Alimat Shola Jimba.
Hajia Jimba passed away yesterday at the age of 69 and has since been laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites.
The late Jimba was a distinguished graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, School of Nursing in Zaria.
In a statement signed by the state NUJ Chairman, Abdullateef ‘Lanre Ahmed and the Secretary, Comrade Omotayo Ayanda, the council described as immeasurable the void created with the transition of Jimba’s mother.
The statement said the union is identifying with its erstwhile secretary and his family in their trying moment.
“We acknowledge the deep grief that accompanied the loss of a loved one, particularly a caring and darling mother. The entire NUJ shares in your pain. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of mourning”, the statement said.
It added that the legacies of Mama will endure through the memories and love she shared with her family and friends.
The union prayed the Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased of her earthly shortcomings and shower His mercies upon her.
“In this moment of mourning, may you find comfort in the cherished memories and the love you shared with her”, the statement said.
