The Kwara State Government has provided hand sanitizers to the State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) to cushions COVID-19 effect on the men of the pen profession in the State.
The gesture by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq was to support Journalists to be safe as they go about their duties in the coronavirus pandemic era.
It is known that Journalists by the nature of their job do a lot of moving around and thus need to be well protected.
Receiving the sanitizer on behalf of the State Council, the Council Secretary, Dcn. Omotayo Ayanda thanked the Governor for his show of love to Journalists and promised that the hand sanitizers would be put to good use.
Dcn. Ayanda advised members to comply with directives by government and health officials, maintain high level of personal hygiene, most importantly observe social distancing, including staying at home unless when necessary to go out on official duties.
He however reiterated members commitment to continuing enlightenment on the need for Kwarans to adhere to safety measures against COVID- 19 as rolled out by the state government.
