Oloriegbe donates sanitisers, gloves to Kwara NUJ

Chairman Senate Committee on Health, Dr. Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe weekend donated hand sanitisers and gloves to Kwara State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) to help curb the spread of COVID- 19 virus.

The Senator who is representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, also made similar donations to various organisations, market and members of his constituents.

The trained medical doctor, said the gesture was part of his contribution towards stopping the spread of the disease.

He advised the people to comply with directives by government and health officials, maintain high level of personal hygiene and most importantly observe social distancing.

Receiving the items through his media aide, Bolaji Aladiye at the NUJ Press Centre Ilorin, the State Chairman of NUJ, Malam Umar Abdulwahab, thanked the senator for his show of love and concern for journalists who are always on duty at this critical period of global public health emergency.

He advised members to stay safe and observe the 1 metre social distancing guidelines and other instruction as directed by health officials including staying at home unless when necessary for them to go out on official duties.

Meanwhile, the union had shut down its press centre for all social gathering in compliance with government directive and that of the NUJ national secretariat.

Staff of the the press centre have also been directed to stay at home while only few journalists who have work to do are being allowed into the press centre where they are also advises to observe social distancing.
